Dr. Kristy Pabilonia received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Colorado State University.
Dr. Pabilonia is head of three sections in the Colorado State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory – Avian Diagnostics, BSL3 Foreign Animal and Zoonotic Diseases and Sample Receiving, and is a coordinator of the Colorado Avian Surveillance Program and the Colorado Poultry Health Board. Her research focuses on avian influenza, backyard poultry populations, and zoonotic diseases. Pabilonia and her colleagues inside and outside CSU often are called on for help by other countries that don’t have the necessary zoonotic disease expertise or diagnostic laboratory capacity to improve or safeguard their livestock, poultry, and human populations.
