Brooklyn Bugs Festival

Brooklyn Bugs returns for its second festival after a whirlwind year of high profile press, touring, and presentations. This year will be highlighted by the first ever BugsGiving Banquet Dinner, the Thursday before Thanksgiving, and will feature edible insects as the primary protein source prepared by Chefs David George Gordon aka “The Bug Chef,” and Joseph Yoon.

There will also be Ento-Cooking Demonstrations, After-School Children’s Programming, UGA Insect Zoo, screenings of the Smithsonian Channel’s “Bug Bites,” and much more…

Nov 14th – Ento-Cooking Demos – 1230pm-3pm. $60

Special Guest Chefs will demonstrate their mastery of ento-cuisine, and offer a tasting menu of the dishes prepared during their cooking demo.

Nov 14th – The Buzz – Insectual Cocktail Party – 7pm-11pm. $65

Mingle with ento-lovers, enthusiasts, friends, and professionals, with a unique tasting menu featuring ento-cuisine prepared by Brooklyn Bugs and special guest chefs.

Nov 15th – Ento-Cooking Demos – 1230pm-3pm. $60

Nov 15th – Bugsgiving – Featuring Chefs: David George Gordon & Joseph Yoon – 7pm-11pm. $99

This extraordinary evening will highlight dishes that reimagine Thanksgiving using edible insects as the primary source of protein, and acknowledge the contributions of Native Americans and America’s culinary melting pot to the traditional Thanksgiving feast. Portion of tonight’s proceeds will benefit the non-profit “Farms for Orphans.”

Nov 16th – After School Insectival – 230pm-600pm. $15 (children under 18 must be accompanied by adult)

A fun, educational, and delicious way for you to introduce your entire family to edible insects. Featuring: UGA Insect Zoo, Lou’s Insect Petting Zoo (AMNH), Children’s Programming & Activities, Discovery Stations, Insect Cafe and more!

Nov 16th – Late Night Bugout 730pm – 1130pm, (21+). $65

Highlights: Smithsonian Channel’s “Bug Bites” Video Screenings, Live “Ento Nation” Podcast Recording, Insect Pie Eating Contest, Cockroach Racing, Cricket Spitting, Cooking Demos, Comedy, Ento-Snacks, and more buggery.
